IL DIACONO MICHAEL DE ARMOND ORDINATO DIACONO PER I DOMENICANI

Fra Agostino (Michael) De Armond, dell’ordine dei Predicatori, è stato ordinato Diacono il 15 settembre 2012 nella Chiesa Cattolica Santa Margherita di Scozia, a San Louis, Missuri.
Michael è il figlio di Larry De Armond e Kathy Notarianni di Springfield, Louisiana, i quali hanno partecipato alla Messa di ordinazione insieme ad altri membri della famiglia, Giovanni e Maria Gaeta di Albany e Charlotte Swinney di Hammond. Kathy Notarianni De Armond è figlia di John Notarianni e Grace Lercara. I suoi bisnonni Giuseppe Notarianni e Anna Buffamante emigrarono da Alia (PA) negli Stati Uniti nel 1902 e si sposarono a Napoleonville, Louisiana il giorno 1 Aprile 1909. Ebbero ben 12 figli.
Il Diacono Fra Agostino è stato ordinato da Mons. Robert J. Carlson di St. Louis. Nel corso della cerimonia per l’inserimento dei candidati al Diaconato, padre Chris Eggleton OP, Priore Provinciale della provincia di San Martino de Porres, ha presentato il Diacono Fra Agostino ed il suo compagno di classe, Diacono Fra Thomas Christopher Schaefgen OP, all’Arcivescovo.
I candidati in ginocchio davanti all’Arcivescovo hanno promesso rispetto e obbedienza al Vescovo diocesano nella cui diocesi serviranno ed al loro superiore religioso. Poi gli eletti si sono prostrati mentre la Congregazione cantava la litania dei Santi, seguendo l’antica tradizione della Sacra Scrittura.
L’Arcivescovo poi ha imposto le mani sul capo degli eletti in preghiera silenziosa prima di invocare lo Spirito Santo di scendere su di loro. I nuovi diaconi sono stati vestiti con una stola e la dalmatica, i paramenti propri del loro ordine. Poi, inginocchiatisi di fronte l’Arcivescovo, hanno ricevuto il libro dei Vangeli facendo seguito a queste parole pronunciate dallo stesso Arcivescovo: “Ricevi il Vangelo di Cristo, il cui araldo sei diventato. Credi ciò che leggi, insegna ciò che credi e ciò che insegni.”
Come Diacono Fra Agostino proclama il Vangelo durante la Messa, predica quando se ne presenta l’occasione e assiste presso l’altare; al di fuori della Messa assiste quelli che hanno bisogno, come i poveri e gli infermi. Quando è necessario egli battezza, celebra matrimoni in nome della Chiesa e conduce liturgie funebri.
Il Diacono Fra Agostino si è laureato in Springfield High School nel 1998 e all’Università della Louisiana Orientale in Hammond, dove ha conseguito degli studi di carattere generale nel 2002 e un Master Arts in lingua Inglese nel 2006.
Egli è stato membro della Cappella di San Tommaso in Springfield, una missione della Chiesa Santa Margherita di Albany, nonché membro del quarto grado dei Cavalieri di Colombo ed è stato editorialista del Baily Hammond Star.


THE DEACON MICHAEL DE Armond ORDAINED DEACON FOR DOMINICAN
Brother Augustine (Michael) De Armond, of the order of Preachers, was ordained deacon September 15, 2012 in the Catholic Church Saint Margaret of Scotland, St. Louis, Missouri.
Michael is the son of Larry and Kathy De Armond Notarianni of Springfield, Louisiana, who attended the ordination Mass along with other members of the family, John and Mary Gaeta Albany and Charlotte Swinney Hammond. Kathy Notarianni De Armond is the daughter of John and Grace Notarianni Lercara. His great-grandparents Joseph and Anna Notarianni Buffamante emigrated from Alia (PA) in the United States in 1902 and married in Napoleonville, Louisiana on 1 April 1909. They had as many as 12 children.
The Deacon Brother Augustine was ordained by Bishop Robert J. Carlson of St. Louis. During the ceremony for the inclusion of candidates for the diaconate, Father Chris Eggleton, OP, Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Martin de Porres, presented the Deacon Brother Augustine and his classmate, Christopher Thomas Deacon Among Schaefgen OP, all ` Archbishop.
Candidates kneeling before the Archbishop promised respect and obedience to the diocesan bishop in whose diocese serve and to their religious superior. Then the elect they knelt down while the congregation sang the Litany of the Saints, following the ancient tradition of sacred Scripture.
The Archbishop then he laid his hands on the head of the elect in silent prayer before invoking the Holy Spirit to descend upon them. The new deacons were dressed with a stole and dalmatic, the vestments of their order. Then, knelt in front of the Archbishop, who received the Book of the Gospels by following these words spoken by the same Archbishop: "Receive the Gospel of Christ, whose herald you have become. Believe what you read, teach what you believe and practice what you teach. "
As Deacon Brother Augustine proclaims the Gospel during Mass, sermon when if the opportunity presents itself and assists at the altar, outside of Mass assist those in need, such as the poor and the sick. When necessary he baptizes, celebrate marriages in the name of the Church and conducts funerals.
The Deacon Brother Augustine is a graduate of Springfield High School in 1998 and from the University of East Louisiana in Hammond, where he obtained the general studies in 2002 and a Master of Arts in English in 2006.
He was a member of the Chapel of St. Thomas in Springfield, a mission of the Church of Santa Margherita Albany, and a member of the fourth degree Knights of Columbus and was a columnist for the Star Baily Hammond.
